Wai Ying : Lemon Chicken Rice

Lemon Goodness!
Where to Buy : Wai Ying Restaurant
Price : P130

When you look at Wai Ying's Menu, you will have a hard time looking for their lemon chicken rice ( confusing menu ), before I didn't even know that they have this, but good thing I asked the waiter about it and the rest is history.

Wai Ying's lemon chicken rice is breaded chicken, they serve the lemon sauce separate from the chicken so you have more controlling power on how much lemon sauce you want. The chicken is crunchy and perfect with the lemon sauce. =D

Tasty Dumplings : Fried Meatball Rice 炸肉丸飯

Meatball???? or Squid ball??
Where to Buy: Tasty Dumplings
Price : P105

I think I remember ordering Meatball... not Squid ball!!! I guess as long as it's meat and it's round you can call it Meatball. Well the so called Meatballs are good ( doesn't taste like cheap Squid ball like the ones being sold by fish ball pushers ), they should have added extra Meatballs.. ( I think 5 pieces of these ain't worth 105 php ).

Salazar Bakery : Chicken Roll

Chiken Roll! Chicken Roll! Chicken Roll!
Where to Buy : Salazar Bakery
Price : P26 ( per piece ) P130 ( 6 piece box )

Chicken Roll! This used to be my pasalubong from my mom when she goes to ongpin, I would always eat two chicken roll because one is never enough. Delicious chicken with scrambled egg inside a soft bun, they aren't stingy with the filling so you could enjoy the whole bun. The Chicken Roll today is quite different from what it used to be, if I could remember correctly the egg wasn't scrambled and it taste a lot better.

Tasty Dumplings : Sweet and Sour Chicken Rice

Sweet n Sour Goodness. =D
Where to Buy : Tasty Dumplings
Price : P113

Sweet and Sour Pork? nah... this is Sweet and Sour Chicken!! =D I usually prefer fish when eating a sweet and sour dish but this is a good alternative, sliced chicken and topped with the sauce looks great ( usually the fish/pork/chicken is swimming in the sauce and it's kinda messy because the sauce would seep into the rice and some people don't like their rice tasting like sweet n sour). The sauce is good together with the chicken, I really liked it! a must try!!! =D

* I thought Tasty Dumplings only sells good pork chop rice, this is good too! =D

Rufo's Famous Tapa : Lumpiang Shanghai

delicious prok spring rolls fried crispy golden-brown... I don't think so.
Where to Buy : Rufo's Famous Tapa Restaurant
Price : P45

Cheap price Cheap taste, that's what you get with this lumpiang shanghai, I thought only Jollibee serves cheap tasting lumpiang shanghai, now there's two of them! the only thing that stands out here is the garlic rice and the cracker. >_<

Wai Ying : Steamed Wanton

Where to Buy : Wai Ying Restaurant
Price : P130

I prefer Wai Ying's Steamed Wanton compared to the oily Fried Wanton! It's less oily and it tastes so much better, this is not on their menu but you could request to have the Fried Wanton be steamed instead. Good for sharing or you could just eat it alone. =D

North Park : Double Pork Rib with Rice

double pork rib? or double fats?

Where to Buy : North Park Restaurant   North Park Menu
Price : P151

A terrible double pork rib with rice from North Park, I couldn't see where they hid the pork rib and meat with all those skins and fats, the whole small serving is consist of skin and fats! this is definitely not worth your money. Better order something else next time. >_<

North Park : Boneless Honey Lemon Chicken

Price : P218

One word best describes their Boneless Honey Lemon Chicken.... Bitin!!! this is only good for one person! don't bother sharing it with other's or you'll end up with only 1 or 2 pieces of this oh so good lemon chicken! The sauce is perfect ( although some may find it too sweet for their taste ) , this is one of their best sellers and I won't argue about it! delicious lemon chicken as always! =D

* I always order lemon chicken when eating at Chinese Restaurants. =D
* Crappy Pic! forgot to bring my digicam. tsk!

North Park : Pineapple Fried Rice with Pork Sausage

Pineapple Fried Rice?
Where to Buy : North Park Restaurant   North Park Menu
Price : P168

North Park's Pineapple Fried Rice is good but not comparable to the Authentic Chinese Fried Rice, It isn't tasty enough to make you crave for more ( even though there are pineapple to sweeten things up ). The serving is good enough for 2 persons but I bet you will order another extra rice. Their fried rice even with different variant almost taste the same! >_<

* sorry for the crappy picture! I forgot to bring my digicam! =c

Wai Ying : Fried Wanton

Crunchy! Yummy! =D
Where to Buy : Wai Ying Restaurant
Price : P130

Wai Ying's Fried Wanton is a great side order to share with your friends, this comes in 12 pieces of deep fried wanton and sweet and sour sauce to make things a little bit fun. Before you can enjoy these wanton you have to get past first the thick crunchy breading.

* you can also request the steamed wanton if you don't like fried.

Wai Ying : Chiu-Chao Dumpling 潮州粉果

peanuts, garlic, chives, pork, dried shrimp and Chinese mushrooms
Where to Buy : Wai Ying Restaurant
Price : P60

Peanuts! I didn't know what Chiu-chao dumpling was before ordering this, I was surprised that it contains peanuts ( which I don't like ), it has a slight peanut butter feel but the pork overwhelms the flavor. It took them 10 minutes to serve this and it is very hot. It's good but I personally prefer other dim sums.

Fried Siopao

delicious!! =D
Where to Buy : Ongpin / Binondo / Recto
Price : P15

Fried Siopao are the Best!! you can find stores that sells this kind of siopao scattered in Chinatown, you can look at the back of the siopao to determine if it's an ordinary siopao or fried ( the fried siopao's back is fried obviously, while the original siopao has a paper on it's back ). The content of this siopao is mostly pork and some vegetables, you should try one of these when you visit Chinatown. =D so good and so cheap!

Tasty Dumplings : Pork Chop Rice 炸排骨飯

Pochap! <3
Where to Buy : Tasty Dumplings
Price : P105

This is what Tasty Dumplings is famous for! their Pork Chop Rice! =D delicious smashed and breaded pork chop, you have to add some sauce ( I don't know what kind of sauce it is ) to make it more tastier. The pork chop looks big because it is smashed so thin. Delicious pochap that will really make you come back for more. =D

Mañosa : Pork Siomai

"kinamayan lang nila yan..." <-- this is what I imagined when I saw the siomai
Where to Buy : Mañosa ( 926 Ongpin St. Binondo, Manila )
Price : P90 ( 4pcs )
Contact Number : 450-4223

Mañosa's Siomai is huge but doesn't look appetizing, the sauce is weird ( some sort of soy sauce? ). The siomai is too soft, when you take a bite it feels like melting. I didn't like their siomai. >_<

* Mañosa is famous for their Maki Mi
* The restaurant looks so old, they didn't even bother fixing it.

Mañosa : Maki Mi

Maki Mi is composed of lean pieces of battered pork in a thick and sticky soup topped with green onions plus egg noodles hence Maki Mi
Where to Buy : Mañosa ( 926 Ongpin St. Binondo, Manila )
Price : P105 ( Maki - pork only )  P110 ( Maki Mi - pork and noodles )
Contact Number : 450-4223

Mañosa is famous for their Maki Mi because it taste just like the good old times ( for the old chinese people ),  the Serving is big but the noodles is so little ( I don't know if you could ask for extra noodles ), the sauce is good and especially the pork, you should try this when you visit ongpin! delicious Maki Mi =D

* The restaurant looks so old, they didn't even bother fixing it.

Wai Ying : Fish Fillet Rice in White Sauce

Where to Buy : Wai Ying Restaurant
Price : P120

Fish Fillet Rice in White Sauce is like their Sweet and Sour Fish Fillet Rice, the only difference is the sauce, here they use the white sauce with corn ( I'ts like Fish Ala King ). I like this better than the sweet and sour of Wai Ying, the fish taste better with the white sauce.
